 It Slims Me Down |
|
Written by Esther S. from Winchester, CA on 05/20/2013 |
When I first received my vest, before putting it on, the panels that go under the armpit and the adjustable shoulder straps intrigued me. The upper half of the vest kind of looks like a bra (but without the cups and the back strap). I was worried about the outer shell, because it looks thin. I have a cincher that is made with the same looking outer latex and the wire pushed through. I hope it won’t happen to this vest.
When I put it on, it was very tight and took me a while to fasten it up on the loosest row. I tend to wear my cinchers and vests a couple of days before laundering and on the second day, I was able to use the tightest row. When I launder it, it shrinks. Regarding the stretching and the thin shell, it does allow me to push my stomach out. I’m not a huge fan of that, except for days when I’m feeling so bloated that a tighter cincher would cause me pain and on days when I wear it to the gym.
On a day that I felt bloated and not very good about my looks, I wore this vest to the gym! I’ve never worn a latex body shaper to the gym, because I was afraid of not being able to get a good breath in. With this vest, my diaphragm can get good deep breaths in when I’m running and I look sexy when I run… at least that’s how I feel ;)
The vest thins me out and does exactly what I want it to do. I’ve purchased cinchers and it takes away my muffin top, but gives me back boobs. That’s when I bought my first vest (Ann Cherry). This is my second vest and both do a great job in distributing my fat, so that I look smooth and thin. The great thing about this vest is the adjustable straps. The Ann Cherry vest doesn’t have adjustable straps and if it’s not pulled down, it doesn’t fit right over the shoulder. I’ve learned with this vest where to adjust my straps. I tightened it too tightly one time and it caused rub marks. When I loosened it the next time, I didn’t get any rub marks and was even able to run in it! I also like the panels under the arms, because it’s soft and doesn’t rub under my arms. It also helps distribute the fat that might pour out of other vests.
One other problem I have is that I have a very arched lower back and for some reason the outer shell bunches up and digs in to me. Since this isn’t the only shape wear that I wear, I’ll have to wear it longer to see if it’s because I wear it too tightly or if I need to launder it after each wear to shrink it up. Luckily the bunched folds don’t show through my shirt. My other vest – the Ann Cherry, does not bunch up like that and maybe it’s because that vest has thicker latex and it stretches differently. |

The BEST shaper I own! |
|
Written by Esther S. from Winchester, CA on 04/18/2013 |
I own many spandex - panty stomach shapers, two Ann Chery waist cinchers, one Flakisima waist cincher, and this vest.
Once upon a time, my body mass index (BMI) was 21.9 (normal). Now my BMI is 27.4 (over weight). I carry my fat in my middle.
When I started to buy shapers, I started with the store bought spandex/panty type ones that you step into and pull up to your bra. Those did an okay job, but they'd roll down and were difficult to manage when I had to use the bathroom. I stepped up to buying three waist cinchers. The two Ann Chery waist cinchers did a phenomenal job holding my stomach in, however, I discovered that besides the fat on my stomach, I also had a lot of back fat. The cinchers pushed it right up over the top. The Flakisima doesn't push the fat up as much, but the quality is poorer. It's thin and one of the metal shapers already popped through.
After I discovered that I have back boobs, when I wear the cinchers, I stepped up to getting this vest and oh, my goodness, it is the best!! It is worth every penny. It does the same job as a cincher by keeping the stomach pulled in AND it keeps the fat on my back evenly distributed! The vest helps me with good posture and as an added bonus - it gives my breasts an added lift and push.
The latex material is strong and the hooks and eyes are made very well. I can't imagine any of the boning popping out like it did in the Flakisima.
Sometimes the straps on the front rub, but I discovered that once it's all hooked up, I have to pull it down a bit until everything is snug and not loose. It is also a reminder to keep my posture straight, so that it doesn't rub me. I have worn a thin shirt under it, which helps. |

 Thin - Doesn't Hold Up to it's Expectations |

I have probably worn this waist cincher about 10 times. I have two other cinchers and one vest that I alternate with, which also allows me to compare which one I like the best.
My tummy has never been flat even when I was a size one as a 5'2" woman. After three kids, I've put on weight and I'm now slightly overweight. I've had three c-sections and my tummy is, well, not like it was when I was a size one.
The other cinchers I own are two Ann Chery waist cincher and one Ann Chery Chaleco latex vest. Compared to this cincher, the Ann Chery cinchers and vest are made of really strong, thick latex. This cincher - the Flakisima, is much thinner. The Ann Chery cinchers pushed the fat on my back up so that instead of a muffin top, I had back boobs. The Flakisima, because it is thinner and not as strong, does not push the fat up as much. However, it doesn't hold in my tummy very much. It's almost like wearing a strong spandex shaper, where you can push your tummy out.
I like to wear the Flakisima on days where I am going to wear a tighter fitting t-shirt, because I know that it would sort of hold my tummy in and NOT show my back fat as much as my other cinchers. I also like the fact that it doesn't feel so heavy.
The Flakisima waist cincher wouldn't have gotten a 5, because it doesn't hold my tummy in the way I wanted it to. I would have rated this as a 4, because of the fact that it dispersed my fat evenly. However, today, one of the metal shapers was able to poke through the thin rubber/latex. I do a lot of sitting and standing and maybe the metal piece couldn't take all of that movement and the thin material just couldn't hold it. I ended up taping it with duct tape (who's going to see) and I'm hoping that will hold it, because I still want to use it. |

Smaller waist - nice; back fat - not so nice |

I ordered a large, because I'm 145 pounds and 5'2", however, I couldn't hook it up. I wasn't strong enough, so I ordered one size up - XL or 38. That size fits. Before getting this waist cincher, I had a muffin top and many times when I was bloated, I looked like I was pregnant again. I love the way it feels and how it makes my stomach and hips look smaller! However, since I'm new to shapewear, I never considered the fact that the fat on my back would get pushed up. Now, instead of getting a muffin top above my jeans, this waist cincher is giving me back breasts. I'm going to try to play with this by using the first hooks for the top part and the second hooks for the lower, so that my back fat doesn't get pushed up as much. Ann Chery has a vest, which I think I'll order next, because it deals with back fat. I'm going to give this waist cincher a 4, because it does cinch the waist and does a good job of it! However, I'm not totally happy, because of the back fat issue. |
